On August 10, 2026, the BANTERAS field team conducted a comprehensive joint monitoring operation with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) targeting known hotspot areas for illegal moneylending activities across the Klang Valley.
The 6-hour operation covered 12 high-risk areas including Chow Kit, Klang, Shah Alam, and Puchong. As a result of intelligence gathered from public complaints submitted through the BANTERAS platform, 3 active illegal moneylenders were identified and their cases referred to PDRM for further action.
During the operation, BANTERAS officers also distributed public awareness materials to residents and business owners, encouraging them to report suspicious lending activities.
This operation is part of BANTERAS' ongoing commitment to making Malaysian communities safer from the scourge of illegal moneylending.
